Introspection follows the research on the built body that began in 2022 with the project HYPER KALOKAGATHIA.
Bodybuilding began to take on its current connotations from the end of the 19th century in Europe, and is now an international phenomenon with worldwide competitions. Having worked closely with bodybuilders and having always been interested in the relationship one has with one's own body, Dagani Rio was fascinated by the reasons behind their desire to create a new version of themselves - closer to their ideal self-image - and the idea of a lifelong project to achieve something, as artists do towards the continuous evolution of their practice to achieve something new and different each time.
Dagani Rio believes that people who decide to take up this practice have a lot to say through their bodybuilding, it is a reconstruction of oneself in both an allegorical and physical sense. This project wants to celebrate a discipline that indicates individuality and goes against normality, but above all it wants to capture that intimate moment when the protagonists look inside themselves, both psychologically and physically.
