This photographic series follows Jay, a female bodybuilder based in Switzerland, whose life and work challenge conventional ideals of womanhood, beauty and gender. Through her practice, she blends elements traditionally associated with masculinity and femininity, redefining strength as a personal and fluid expression that resists fixed norms.
By capturing Jay’s muscular physique alongside moments of softness and grace, this work creates a nuanced dialogue between power and vulnerability, tradition and rebellion. Her body, in this context, becomes both a canvas and a statement—an invitation to reflect on how we define identity, strength, and beauty.
The series confronts and reinterprets societal codes surrounding gender and body image, offering a space for the audience to reconsider entrenched perceptions.
